Dawn (our head trainer), has over 30 years of practical experience training dogs, cats and horses, working through behavior problem behaviors and rebuilding broken relationships between the animal and human worlds. She has a gift of communication with animals and works well even with the most stubborn. Dawn also has the unique ability to watch your interactions with your animal and be very accurate in the overall “problem solving”. Dawn is an incredibly upfront, honest person - she will not lead you down any golden brick road that does not exist and she will always call it exactly how she sees it. Training Methods
Success Based Training is a combination of training methods. Individuals require different training methods. In our group training the following equipment is required
6 foot leather OR double-ply nylon leash
choke chain OR pinch collar that correctly fits your dog
treats that your dog LOVES
NOTE: We DO NOT use a Gentle Leader or Halti in training as these are not training tools that afford success. If you wish to use these tools to train with, contact another trainer. It is our policy to “wean” a dog from a training collar to a flat collar. This is NOT possible with either the Gentle Leader or the Halti as they DO NOT “train,” they simply control. The use of these devices in our opinion is equal to handcuffing a child that has been in fights so he can no longer fight, but can continue to go to school and do his work. It is much more effective to resolve the behavior rather than physically continue to restrain. Additionally, we have witnessed too many dogs that have long term problems (including leash aggression) due to the use of these devices.

We look forward to seeing you and your dog in training! ~ Dawn & Lori

Lori is in her 11th year of practical experience with dogs and cats and has 4 years of formal education in behavior. She practices tough love type of training that works exceptionally well with strong willed dogs. Lori has an open mind and will listen to your situation completely before returning to our team to work through evaluations and training plans. Lori’s formal education provides her with the ability to analyze a situation in it’s entirety. Additionally, Lori’s education is evident in her work with Service & Therapy dogs and their human counter-parts. Lori’s passion in training lies within the relationship bond - she handles most of our trick training and agility... though she adores tracking and is very good starting new dogs on the tracking field.
