Will cease barking immediately upon command. 8. The dog will not bite or attempt to bite the aggressor, however will show such a strong presence that the aggressor truly believes that (s)he is in real danger if (s)he does not immediately change the behavior that (s)he will be attacked. 9. We will simulate attacks under many conditions. Those with medical conditions, please contact us prior to registration to see what accommodations we can make for you. PLEASE NOTE: We train in the State of Michigan. For liability reasons, we do not do any bite training on this premise. If you are seeking bite training, we strongly recommend that your dog be able to differentiate between an attack and a threat. We can offer the names of other facilities that can take your dog past the Alert phase that we will train. Also, it should be noted that any dog that is bite/attack trained may not be certified as a therapy dog with Delta Society or TDI, these are their rules, not ours. |
Alert Training
This course is available to those wishing to have their dog to present a strong warning bark either upon command and/or when the situation dictates. It is ideal for families where there is a potential need for a dog with the “presence” of an attack dog without the liability of an “attack dog”.
Our Alert training will prepare you and your dog to face an attacker and to warn off the attack with a “bark & hold”. You will learn to confidently handle your dog in situations while relying upon your dog’s ability to diffuse the situation without harm to the attacker or potential threat.
This course is ideal for the single mom, the family that takes camping trips, families that live in neighborhoods that have become concerning and families that live in the country.
Our Alert Training course will prepare you for the SDA PA title.
8 weeks 1.5 hours each class. Pre-Req Enrollement in or completion of Advanced-O(a) & Courage test.
