In home private training & group training is available under the following terms and conditions:
1. Your dog has been recently seen by a licensed veterinarian, is free and clear of all diseases, parasites and is in good health. We need proof of vaccinations (DA2PP + Rabies). We need proof of worming OR negative worming results. If we are concerned with the health of your dog and training has begun we will suspend training for up to two (2) weeks pending health certification. The good health of the dog is important to the success training.
2. You understand that “training” is not something that “just happens,” and you commit to doing your part in training by following the homework assigned during the training session. A dog cannot go through training without practice anymore than a human can take a class and actually learn without practicing that which is taught. Our responsibility is to give you the tools to work with your dog, your responsibility is to use those tools. It is your responsibility to complete ALL homework before the next training session.
3. We are committed to making the relationship between you and your dog as positive as possible. We acknowledge that each client (human and dog) is different and we strive to individualize all training - the most individualized is private training and the least individualized is group classes. If you have a dog that needs behavior training, it is wiser to choose private training OR club prior to joining a group class so the behaviors are corrected, a group class IS NOT the place for behavior training - it is the place to learn a specific “set” of commands. There are just as many families that do well in a group training class as do poorly in a group training class. If you are uncertain which training environment is better for you, contact us and we will help you make that determination. Because of our “individualized training methods” you and your dog will succeed at your own pace. We measure success by the relationship between you and your dog, not by your dogs ability to perfectly execute an obedience command (with few exceptions). To achieve success you must be committed to this training, if you are not committed, then find another trainer.
4. You understand that physical, verbal and emotional abuse is inappropriate behavior that is counterproductive to successful training. As such, it will not be tolerated. If you are an abuser, find a different trainer as we WILL report abuses to local authorities. You are ultimately responsible for the behavior and safety of yourself, your dog and others who come in contact with your dog. We reserve the right to discontinue training and refuse to continue training at your expense if your dog is under undue stress due to abuse, health condition or the presence of an individual that you choose to involve in your dogs life and/or training..
EVALUATIONS
Evaluations are required for the following training: All In Home Training; All Private Training; All Board & Trains.
The evaluation process follows this process: Client contacts MondouCu with “concern”. Trainer determines that there is a NEED for one of the above mentioned training methods and that the dog &/or handler are not a candidate for group training, (all cat, horse and bird training/consultation requires an evaluation). Client schedules an exam with their veterinarian (or has had a full work up, including blood work up within the last 60 days) to determine that the animal has no medical issues that are contributing to the behavioral issue. WE WILL NOT train a sick or diseased animal - not only is it cruel to put the stress of training on a dog needing medical attention, but it is completely unethical as the training will be unsuccessful and the client will not be happy. Once the animal is deemed medically healthy by the veterinarian the client shall submit that certification to MondouCu along with a release for a member of MondouCu Animal Training to speak directly with the veterinarian. An appointment shall then be set for the evaluation. The evaluator will either come to the home of the client or the client will come to the training facility, depending upon the “concern”. Payment of $75.00 for the evaluation (plus mileage if the evaluation is in the home) is due at the beginning of the evaluation process - this payment MUST be in cash. The evaluator will observe the behaviors of the animal, will ask many questions and take notes. The evaluator will leave the evaluation WITHOUT discussing the evaluation UNLESS there is an immediate issue that must be addressed in which case, the evaluator will leave directions as to an immediate course of action that the client should take for the safety of the animal or others. MondouCu Animal Training will forward a full written evaluation to the client by either email or US mail within 5 business days of the evaluation. The evaluation will include background information regarding the dog and family, training options and pricing, as well as a recommended course of action. Once the client receives the evaluation, it is the client’s obligation to pursue the course of action and training. If the client schedules training within 10 business days of the evaluation $25.00 of the evaluation fee will be applied to the cost of training.
